Memories that live on…

Memories that live on…

By Angela Kasamala

It is five years now since you left me
It took just a second and you were gone
It is you I long for when I wake up each morning
It takes a love like mine to keep growing strong,
Even after five years…

Your breath was all I needed to make a smile
Your laughter still echoes in my heart
helping me to believe that we shall be together again someday
Your touch always seemed to release enough love to keep me alive
Your eyes still seem alive to me,
Even after five years…

The dull, grey morning was the morning
I knew would change my whole life forever
That presence of yours that always seemed to fill my world was gone
That feeling of waking up each morning because
I knew you would be there was lost
That day when death snatched you away from me….I still love you,
Even after five years…

Now, as l lay back on your favourite chair,
I feel as though you are back
I long for the days we used to be together
The days when we shared everything that made our lives a complete cycle
Even after five years,
I still remember everything about you as though you only left me today.

I can’t wait to see you again….someday!!!

Dear Angie,

I am really touched by your poems, as your words leave pictures in my mind and tears on my eyes.

Take care,
