May 2008

FananiFlava members were invited to hold their May 2008 session at the Residence of the Palestinian Ambassador, H. E. Amb. Yousef Habbab. (This happened on 27 May 2008). Well, we were all VERY impressed by the kind hospitality, not to mention the delicious, scrumptious, romantic, tantalizing food, all Palestinian cuisine, which was all cooked by the Ambassador in one (1) hour!

The company was great, honorably graced by the Country Director of UNESCO - H. E. Mr. Cheikh Tidiane Sy, who is our NEW FF member. It was indeed a relaxed, poetic atmosphere.
This evening gave birth to the theme for July poetry session “POETRY, FOOD AND FAITH” or along these lines. On food, we all agreed the food was great. On Faith, after a heated discussion, it was agreed that Faith is a very personal ground between the believer and his/her God, and it should not be imposed under any pretex. The theme for June 2008 session remains Hon. Seif Khatib – The Poet.
